Moving Box Singapore

Plan ahead when moving house

If you are moving to a new house. It would be wise to plan and organize your move 2 to 3 weeks in advance. You may have engaged a mover to do the moving for you, but a majority of us prefers to pack our own items. This is also the best opportunity to organize and discard un-used or un-wanted item away.

Besides, packing your items in the moving box by yourself will save you a lot of costs, instead of letting the movers do everything. Always purchase directly from Moving Box Singapore, you will get clean new carton boxes, instead of some old used carton box given by the movers.

Pack your items according to Weight

When doing the packing, always use the bigger box for the light object and the smaller box for the heavy object. Books, computer, and tools are preferably put in a smaller box. Large boxes are good for light items like blankets, clothing, or stuffed animals.

Label the Moving Boxes

Always label the moving box, according to the room to be packed. Label the name of the person or room name on the cartons. List and label the items that are put inside the box. Label clearly outside the box so that unpacking will be a lot easier at the new place.

Place all small and miscellaneous items together, like small objects and tools should be kept together based on where they belong. For example, you can pack a box of stationery supplies with pens, paperweights, staplers, and paper clips tossed in together.

Don't pack furniture and major appliance in the cartons. They should be wrapped in padded moving blankets. The oversize object should be wrap using bubble wrap, corrugated paper and final wrap using a plastic stretch wrap. If you hired a mover, they may do this for you.

Take Care of Fragile Items

Fragile items should be wrap using bubble wrap and put in a smaller moving box. Loose fill may be used to fill up the entire lose space to protect the fragile items from moving during transportation. The smaller fragile item should be placed on top and the heavy items at the bottom. If the overall weight is going to be heavy, it is advisable to put additional corrugated sheet at the bottom of the box as a cushioning base. Lastly, remember to label the word "Fragile" on all four sides of the box.

Don't overstuff boxes with fragile items. When you are done packing each box, close the top. Seal the top and the bottom along the openings and seams with packing tape.
